Tessa Wicks started running with the goal of running the 4km Conifer Grove loop, without any real intent, she just “went out for a run”. Fast forward a few years and she has now completed the Taupo 50km Ultra-Marathon. Tessa explains that she runs predominantly for her own mental health, it helps her to feel good and stay ahead of the game, which is something we can all truly appreciate about the pursuit, regardless of the status of our mental health.
Tessa started with TTT Runners off the back of her kids joining the crew, after James nagged her to “put her big girl pants on” and come join us. She has since been a frequent attendee at most of the sessions. Tessa notes that she keeps coming back for the people, she says that she loves the sessions and the running but the people are the driving factor. She loves seeing everyone and all the post run chats with like minded people. Tessa loves the support that she receives from all around the country when seen wearing the TTT stripes, even from those who aren't regular attendees at TTT sessions.
Tessa offered a "big thank you" to the TTT Runners coaches.
